We run on people power! Our work is accomplished by a dedicated and diverse group of volunteers. Nobody knows our county better than the people who live here, and we would love your help.

In the past, volunteers have organized a public educational forum on the connection between land use and climate change, produced a film to promote Thrive Hood River’s vision of a new community park for the Westside of Hood River, and built trails at Punchbowl Falls.

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY

Since 2016, Thrive has adopted stretches of Highway 35 and the Dee Highway. We would love your help to take care of this beautiful stretch of road! We do litter patrols twice a year in the milder spring and fall seasons. You’ll get camaraderie and warm fuzzy feelings from making Hood River more beautiful (plus you get to wear a fluorescent orange vest!)

These are the stretches we’ve adopted:

Highway 35 from Tum-A-Lum Lumber to the Mt. Hood Railroad bridge
Highway 35 between Leasure Drive and Mt. Hood
Dee Highway near the Lost Lake Road

Next time you’re driving one of those stretches (maybe today), take a moment to appreciate our dedicated volunteers for their care.
