Snowshoe with Thrive and Bark
March 13, 2022 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
We still have spots for our upcoming snowshoe with Bark ! Join us on Sunday, March 13, for a guided snowshoe excursion in the Mt. Hood National Forest near Cooper Spur Road. There, we will learn about Bark’s efforts to save parts of the forest from logging, and also hike through forests included in the Mt. Hood Land Trade and learn about our work to protect this area from commercial resort development. Hike leaders will share fascinating information about the ecology, history, and current social dimensions of the area.
This hike will be off-trail, and include walking on uneven terrain. Participants should expect to walk up to two miles, and experience approximately 300 ft in elevation gain. We will make numerous stops for discussion, so please come prepared to keep yourself warm and comfortable. Parts of this hike will likely require snowshoes, so if you have a pair, please bring them along. If you need a pair, reach out to Jackie at jackie@thrivehoodriver.org
Please note: This in-person outing will follow safe COVID-19 protocols. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants will be required to wear face coverings and maintain physical distance from others outside their contact bubble.
Questions, interested in carpooling or want register? Email Jackie, our Director of Operations and Outreach at jackie@thrivehoodriver.org
