Dear Thrive Community,
Affordable Homes Are Within Reach! HB 2138 is a game-changer for Oregon, encouraging the construction of middle housing like duplexes, triplexes, and ADUs. This will provide more housing opportunities for first-time buyers, families, and older adults.
Thrive worked with the City in 2021 to enable these kinds of Missing Middle housing options in Hood River. The proposed legislation would create similar options within City Urban Growth Boundaries (UGBs) statewide.
Submit written testimony to the House Committee on Housing and Homelessness by noon on Monday, March 3, if possible (testimony will still be received through 1 p.m. on March 5 if you can’t submit before the hearing). On the submission form, where it asks for your “Position on Measure,” select “Support.”
Sign up to testify verbally by selecting “Register to testify” on the overview page for HB 2138 by 12:30 p.m. on March 3. Indicate whether you will testify remotely or in person. If you can testify in person at the capitol, we highly encourage you to do so.
